Tolerances and inspection
In precision medical machining, a tolerance is held on every lot, not one good sample: critical features are agreed at DFM, then controlled by fixturing, tool-wear control, in-process checks and final inspection.
First article inspection (FAI) runs before production, with the FAI report and dimensional reports on request; drawings are read to ASME Y14.5 for GD&T. Tolerances are confirmed per drawing, never as one shop-wide number; medical device precision machining means the same result on every lot.
